There is something about Dead can Dance that transcends this present realm. And this song is one of the most interesting versions of an old Gaelic ballad I have ever heard. JT wrote this about a girl he knew in rehab who committed suicide. I have often thought about some of the people I met in 12 step. Great, great people who were just fucked up like me. I wonder what happened to many of them. There were some I was sure wouldn’t make it. But God can do anything. The question has been “Will He?”.

I never actually cried when this song was on. I did have to choke back tears the first time I heard it because I was in the car with my daughter on a road trip. Bold yet funny exterior. Soul wanting to know more about this story. Maybe I’m just projecting deep inner sadness about my sisters.
